I am a full time private tutor with more than 10 years of tutoring experience in English, Mathematics and Accounting. My pedagogical approach is problem-based learning where I explain abstract concepts in Mathematics and Accounting using diagrams, illustrations and real life examples. I have the ability to explain and distill abstract concepts and have helped many students overcome their fear of the subject. For English, as the subject matter transcends concepts, I employ directed conversations and writing exercises to help my students articulate their thoughts and sharpen their analytical and comprehension skills. Using short stories, model essays, editorials and newspaper articles, I help my students grasp the craft of language and develop their own voice and writing style. I don't believe in spoon feeding answers and will guide my students to arrive at the correct answers through worked examples and then asking them to translate what they have learned to their assignments.
