I am an ex-teacher from Nanyang Girls' High School with 28 years of teaching experience. I am specialized in teaching upper secondary Additional and Elementary Mathematics, Chemistry and Lower Secondary Science and Mathematics I graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) with a Bachelor of Science (Mathematics and Chemistry). I went on to the National Institute of Education (NIE) for my post-graduate Diploma in Education, trained in the teaching of Mathematics and Chemistry. I was sent to a neighbourhood school to teach upon graduation from NIE before joining Nanyang Girls' High School 2 years later. I am currently a registered flexi-adjunct teacher with the Ministry of Education (MOE). I still go back to school to teach on a part-time basis when there are suitable assignments so as to keep abreast of the latest syllabus.
Over the years, I have taught students from top government schools, neighbourhood schools and international schools doing the different programmes ('O' level, IP, IB). Such experiences have made me an even better teacher which will not be possible if I had remained as a full-time teacher in a school.
I am thankful to all my ex-students who are willing to share with me their worksheets given by their school teachers. I have compiled these worksheets over the years and together with my own worksheets, I am able to provide my students with the most relevant worksheets according to their ability. Once they have attained a certain level of competence, more difficult worksheets will be provided.
Most of my new students are recommended by my ex-students. New students who are unsure whether I am the right tutor for them can choose to have a paid first trial lesson with me before deciding on whether to engage me as their tutor for the long term.
Everybody can teach but not everybody is a good teacher. I do not intend to sing my own praises as I believe that a student is able to judge for herself / himself after the first lesson.
My fees starts from $85 per hour depending on the level.
My preferred location is near to the city or in the east.
